THE PATH AND THE GOAL
1.Seek the Supreme Awareness, seek the One
Seek the Substratum of all, reckless one!
When the time to depart reaches close
You won’t be saved by quote and prose
So seek the Ground of all, seek it now!
2. Stop craving for wealth, dear fool!
Cleanse the heart and be ever mindful
Whatever you get by your own effort
Enjoy that alone and always be a sport
Just seek the Ground of all, seek it now!
3. So long as you can earn and save
People will show concern and behave
But when creep in old age and disease
All their care, respect and word cease.
So seek the Ground of all, seek it now!
4. Pride not in your youth, wealth and power
Time wipes off even the mightiest tower
Knowing all this as an ephemeral game
Awaken and kindle the divine flame
Hence seek the Ground of all, seek it now!
5. Prayers, pilgrimages and austerity
Avail not; nor does any strong pledge!
For, who is devoid of self-knowledge,
Remains in bondage for an eternity
So seek the Ground of all, seek it now!
6. In silence or in great celebration
In company or in deep seclusion
Whose mind revels constantly in Unity
He alone enjoys the bliss of Divinity
Just seek the Ground of all, seek it now!
7. A new birth; one more in the tomb;
Another helplessly lying in the womb;
Impossible to avoid this terrible fire
Unless one realizes the Self Higher
So seek the Ground of all, seek it now!
8. The goal is within thy own self
The real path is thy own consciousness
All you need is deep alertness
Delve within and know thy real self
So seek the Ground of all, seek it now.
9. Thou that art, That thou art
Realize this within thy heart
Embrace the path of meditation
And reach thy true destination.
The Ground of all is thy own Self.
